As a pivotal member of our team, you will provide expert consulting services to significant Defence & Security clients. You will enhance your industry knowledge while specializing in your area of expertise. Leveraging our extensive sector and technical knowledge, we transform our clients' fundamental business operations, equipping them for growth, navigating budgetary challenges, embracing digital transformation, and improving operational efficiency.
In this role, you will act as a catalyst for your clients' projects, driving substantial improvements in delivery speed and quality. Early in your career, you will have the chance to assume greater responsibilities and refine your project and budget management skills. This position also encourages innovative thinking in crafting client solutions. Our focus encompasses the entire lifecycle of operations transformation, from designing operating models to executing operational changes, including process re-engineering and enhancing performance.
Key Responsibilities
As a Consultant, your duties will include:
- Assisting clients in resolving complex challenges through analysis, recommendations, and a blend of experience, industry insight, tools, and technology.
- Collaborating with various stakeholders, both within the organization and in client settings.
- Overseeing the delivery of work packages, ensuring adherence to time and quality standards.
- Managing a small team of junior members (approximately 1-3).
- Identifying and escalating potential risks and issues.
- Contributing to business development and practice management initiatives alongside senior team members.
- Engaging in internal practice development by participating in proposition, methodology, and point of view development, as well as supporting knowledge capture and sharing.
Essential Qualifications
- Experience in designing and implementing operating models, service design, and/or digital transformation solutions within the UK Public Sector, utilizing both traditional and agile delivery methods.
- Prior experience in a consulting role with client-facing responsibilities.
- Understanding of key challenges in the Defence & Security sector and a keen interest in innovative governmental strategies.
- Awareness of current trends influencing the business landscape: digitalization, automation, robotics, and advanced analytics.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to create detailed project plans and meet strict deadlines.
- A commitment to making a societal impact through logical problem-solving and innovative thinking.
- Capability to lead an independent workstream within a broader team context.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous and rapidly evolving environments.
- Proficiency in fostering collaboration and inclusivity within teams at all organizational levels.
- Proven track record of building effective relationships to achieve successful outcomes.
Desirable Experience
- Experience collaborating with the Ministry of Defence, law enforcement, or other secure government sectors.
- Experience advising clients on the integration of disruptive digital technologies.
