About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join our team in the School of Mathematical Sciences at Queen Mary University of London. The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Omer Bobrowski on the EPSRC-funded project "Universality in Topological Data Analysis". The project aims to study the probabilistic behavior of random high-dimensional structures, focusing on phase transitions related to their topology.
The successful applicant will have a PhD degree in mathematics or a related field, with research experience in probability theory and/or applied topology. They should also have expertise in at least one of the areas: machine learning, applied topology, and/or probability theory. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of publishing high-quality research papers and excellent communication skills.
About the School
The School of Mathematical Sciences is a leading research center with a strong presence across the spectrum of Mathematical Sciences. We are part of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, which comprises five schools and two institutes. Our student population has grown in recent years, and our research profile has strengthened considerably.
The successful candidate will be based in the Centre for Data Science, Statistics and Probability, which is one of our research centers. Other centers include the Centre for Combinatorics, Algebra & Number Theory, the Centre for Geometry, Analysis and Gravitation, the Centre for Dynamical Systems, Statistical Physics and Complex Systems, and the Centre for Mathematical Education.
