Electrical Design Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Automation Experts Ltd. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing electrical systems for our clients.

The Role:
  1. Design and develop electrical systems using CAD software, ensuring accuracy, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.
  2. Collaborate with customers and internal teams to determine requirements and specifications.
  3. Produce high-quality documentation, including functional design specifications and system manuals.
  4. Create detailed 2D layout drawings for electrical panel build systems.
  5. Liaise with suppliers to select appropriate components and materials.
  6. Develop bills of materials (BOMs) and ensure accurate inventory management.
  7. Support the commissioning team to ensure successful FAT and SAT.
  8. Perform design calculations to verify suitability and performance.
  9. Contribute to design reviews and process improvements.
The Person:
  1. Degree-level qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  2. Extensive experience with electrical design software, including Eplan and Autocad Electrical.
  3. Strong hand calculation skills for drive systems, electrical loadings, and current ratings.
  4. Excellent communication and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  5. Flexibility for occasional travel within the UK and abroad.
  6. Prior experience in bespoke/special purpose machine building and design.
  7. Knowledge of robotics, automation, vision, and sensing systems is beneficial.
  8. Ability to work with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
  9. Understanding of UKCA/CE Technical file creation, including risk assessments.
