About the Role:

  • Lead the evolution of our Safety Management System, ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive the Safety Star Programme, championing personal health and safety across the workforce and fostering a culture of accountability.
  • Provide expert health and safety knowledge and support to all personnel, ensuring a proactive and risk-aware approach to work.
  • Develop and coordinate comprehensive safety training programmes, equipping employees with the skills and knowledge to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Collaborate with international sites to share best practices and implement safety visions aligned with company policies and objectives.
  • Develop and implement systems to encourage personal ownership of safety, ensuring both personal and process safety performance remains exceptional.
  • Manage high-risk employee management, scenario training, and hazard/operability studies on critical processes, ensuring a proactive approach to risk mitigation.
  • Lead the Safety Steering Committee, providing clear direction and leadership for safety sub-committees and ensuring a cohesive safety strategy.
  • Drive continuous improvement in personal and process safety, ensuring the highest levels of compliance and safe behaviours.
  • Regularly audit work areas, engaging directly with employees to understand and mitigate potential risks and hazards.
  • Manage incident/accident investigations, ensuring safety reports are compiled, shared, and used to inform future prevention measures.
