Position Overview

Murphy is on the lookout for Graduate Cost Estimators to join their dynamic team and work closely with commercial managers. This role presents a remarkable opportunity for recent graduates to launch their careers with a well-respected contractor. Through the comprehensive two-year Graduate Program, you will immerse yourself in Murphy's collaborative environment, take advantage of growth opportunities, and work towards obtaining a professional qualification with dedicated mentorship and training. This program allows for rotations across various sectors and projects, enhancing your learning experience and broadening your exposure.

As a Graduate Cost Estimator, your main duty will be to deliver extensive commercial support to the organization and the Commercial Team on multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Tendering

  • Oversee subcontract and material procurement timelines
  • Assist in the preparation of subcontracts

Financial Management

  • Develop cash flow projections
  • Create plans for margin enhancement

Risk Assessment

  • Identify potential project risks and opportunities

Commercial Oversight & Financial Management

  • Generate internal commercial reports
  • Prepare cost analysis and forecasts
  • Manage subcontractor accounts

Construction Technology

  • Implement construction technology for project sustainability

Cost Analysis

  • Prepare valuations and payment applications
  • Negotiate pricing adjustments
  • Finalize accounts

Conflict Resolution

  • Address minor conflicts
  • Assist in resolving client disputes

Project Planning

  • Comprehend construction schedules
  • Support project planning efforts

Health & Safety

  • Promote best practices in health and safety
  • Demonstrate knowledge of HSE policies

Data Management

  • Follow document control protocols
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR regulations

Client Relations

  • Maintain strong client relationships
  • Deliver exceptional customer service

Communication & Negotiation

  • Utilize negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Effectively present complex concepts
  • Facilitate team communication

Team Collaboration
