Position Overview

Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Assistants are sought to join our dedicated team at The Supply Register. We are collaborating with educational institutions to identify skilled individuals who can provide essential support to students with diverse learning requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in creating a safe and organized learning environment by ensuring that all materials and resources are prepared and utilized effectively.
  • Support educators in facilitating learning activities while maintaining health and safety standards and promoting positive behavior among students.
  • Help students engage with educational tasks as directed by teaching staff, ensuring that each child progresses towards their individual learning objectives.
  • Recognize and support the unique needs of each student, ensuring equitable access to learning opportunities.
  • Provide administrative assistance, including tasks such as record-keeping, photocopying, and managing classroom displays.
  • Collaborate with therapists and other professionals to implement tailored learning programs for each student.
  • Adhere to all policies regarding child protection, health, safety, and confidentiality, promptly reporting any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Contribute positively to the overall objectives of the educational institution and work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through training and participation in relevant meetings.
  • Implement behavior management strategies for students facing significant learning or emotional challenges to ensure their well-being and educational success.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with children who have special educational needs.
  • Proficiency in using basic technology in an educational context, including computers and photocopiers.
  • Familiarity with policies related to child protection, health, safety, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to build rapport with children and adults, understanding their needs and responding appropriately.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to encourage student interaction and social responsibility.

Note: Candidates must possess an Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
