About the Role

Based at our Edinburgh, Newbridge site, this role involves carrying out driving and related duties involved with the carriage of goods within a defined geographical area. This is a multi-drop role with hours of operation from Monday to Friday, 07:00am to 05:00pm, although start and finish times may vary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safe Unloading of Vehicles: Oversee the safe unloading of vehicles at customer premises.
  • Vehicle Operation: Drive both Class 1 and Class 2 vehicles.
  • Proof of Delivery: Ensure Proofs of Delivery are signed and returned without delay.
  • Load Security and Weight Distribution: Check the load security and weight distribution according to latest safe working practices at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure that the delivery vehicles are always maintained to Company standards in terms of reporting of any defects to the vehicle.
  • Safe Vehicle Operation: Ensure vehicles are in safe condition, with daily checks correctly completed before use, and are operated in a safe manner.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold a valid HGV Class 1 Licence with no more than 6 points, own a Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card, have knowledge of working time directive, previous experience in a warehousing or distribution business, and understanding and experience of EHS requirements.
