Class 1 HGV Night Driver needed immediately

Become a Class 1 Night Trunking Driver and let your nocturnal adventures begin Driver Hire Halifax are recruiting for various roles in the Halifax, Keighley and Skipton area; we are on the look out for experienced Class 1 drivers looking for more flexible trunking shifts. All applicants are required to have a minimum of 2 years experience for insurance purposes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods during night hours. Location: Halifax

Rate of pay:

  • GBP14.90 (PAYE including Holiday Pay)
  • GBP119 a shift
  • Up to GBP596 a week (FTE)

Shift pattern

  • The trunking runs vary from 1-2 drops to Preston and back, starting at 6pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a Class 1 (C+E) vehicle to transport goods between depots during night hours.
  • Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct pre and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good condition.
  • Secure loads and ensure they are transported safely.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Comply with all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with dispatchers and other team members.
  • Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained

Requirements:

  • Valid Class 1 (C+E) driving license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Class 1 driver, with night trunking experience preferred.
  • CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification.
  • Digital tachograph card.
  • Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and procedures.
  • Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Good physical condition for handling any necessary loading and unloading.
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor.
