Compensation:
£35-45 Umbrella (Inside IR35)

Role Summary:
The decommissioning projects team is responsible for overseeing a variety of small to medium-sized initiatives associated with nuclear decommissioning, building demolition, and refurbishment, with budgets ranging from £0.5M to £50M. The Project Engineer will provide essential project management support for multiple work packages as directed by the decommissioning manager.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee work packages from initiation to completion as assigned by the Project Manager.
  2. Coordinate design activities or physical works as required.
  3. Manage design and construction interfaces within the project, participating in risk reviews and providing SQEP input.
  4. Ensure the supply chain meets production demands.
  5. Supervise commissioning activities for new plants and equipment.
  6. Plan demolition activities and collaborate with nuclear waste engineers to optimize waste disposal strategies.
  7. Ensure adherence to established safety, environmental, and security standards.
  8. Prepare technical documentation and reports, including Project Management Plans and Construction Phase Plans.
  9. Develop safety documentation and Plant Modification Proposals.
  10. Identify project risks and develop cost estimates and work schedules.
  11. Review contractor tender documents and work plans.
  12. Engage with Licensee, Infrastructure, and Projects for work approvals.
  13. Manage readiness reviews and quality plans throughout the project lifecycle.
  14. Assist with local authority planning permissions.

Documentation:
Prepare documents in accordance with Project Management and Change Management processes, such as Project Initiation Documents, User Requirement Specifications, and Communication Plans.


Meetings:
Chair weekly site meetings and ensure accurate records of discussions and actions are maintained.
Team Management:
Line manage Clerk of Works resources associated with your work packages as directed by the Project Manager.
Compliance:
Please note that this contract position requires successful completion of:
- Security Clearance
- Medical, drug, and alcohol tests
