A Special Needs Educator is required for a specialized educational institution catering to secondary school learners with diverse needs. In this role, you will engage with Key Stage 3 students who experience significant learning challenges, often functioning at pre-Key Stage 1 levels. Some students may be non-verbal or have sensory impairments.

This institution is well-connected via public transport, making it easily accessible from various parts of London. As a Special Needs Educator, you will join a dedicated team supported by exceptional leadership and outstanding resources. A willingness to assist with personal care tasks is preferred.

Your responsibilities as a Special Needs Educator may include:
- Designing and delivering lessons tailored to students with a variety of learning difficulties and complex needs, utilizing innovative teaching strategies such as Lego therapy and intensive interaction sessions.
- Employing communication aids to effectively engage with students who are non-verbal or have visual or auditory impairments.
- Supporting students in building confidence and independence.
- Implementing behavior management strategies, which may involve physical interventions, to foster a positive and secure learning atmosphere.
- Collaborating with specialized educational services, healthcare professionals, counselors, and psychologists.
- Adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.

To qualify for the role of Special Needs Educator, you will need:
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Early Career Teachers (ECT) with relevant experience will be considered.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or overseas-trained educators awaiting QTS.
- A current and clear DBS check.
- Experience working with young individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- A patient and compassionate demeanor, capable of maintaining composure and support in challenging situations.
