Morgan Hunt is seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Instructor to join Barnet and Southgate College on a temporary basis.

Key Responsibilities of the Instructor:

  • Delivering comprehensive Further Education and Training programs tailored for SEN students as the primary Instructor for the class or group
  • Designing and organizing lessons, resources, and support systems to facilitate learners in achieving their qualifications
  • Utilizing the College's digital platforms to monitor progress and attendance
  • Ensuring high-quality delivery of engaging lessons with clear learning objectives
  • Inspiring and motivating learners through contemporary teaching methodologies
  • Assigning and evaluating regular, challenging homework aligned with student capabilities
  • Adhering to quality assurance protocols (gathering learner feedback, conducting lesson observations, and implementing action plans)
  • Participating in meetings and professional development days
  • Maintaining accurate class registers consistently, managing administrative tasks, and grading
  • Performing any additional duties as required by the College
Qualifications Required:

  • Significant experience in the Further Education and Training sector
  • Possession of a UK recognized teaching qualification (DTLLS, PCET, PGCE, or QCF Level 5 Diploma in Education)
  • Prior experience as a SEN Instructor or Teacher with a proven track record in retention and achievement
  • GCSEs in both Maths and English, at grades A-C or equivalent
  • A valid DBS registered with the online update service or willingness to apply for a new one
  • Demonstrated experience of consistently good or outstanding teaching
