Job Title: Staff Nurse

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Nurse to join our progressive Day Surgery Services team at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Admit and prepare patients for theatre, ensuring adherence to local policy and guidelines.
  • Care for patients post-operatively and discharge patients under the nurse-led discharge criteria.
  • Contribute to the development and expansion of the Day Surgery Service, enhancing the patient experience.
Requirements:
  • Significant experience in general surgical/orthopaedic nursing.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to maintaining and developing high standards.
  • Active UK NMC Registration.
Person Specification:
  • In-depth knowledge of speciality.
  • Problem-solving experience.
Desirable:
  • Venepuncture and punctuation.
  • ECG's.
  • Catheterisation.
  • IT skills.
