Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled ESOL Tutor to join our team at CRA GROUP LIMITED. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality teaching and learning experiences for learners, managing teaching and learning in line with SALS policies and practices, and contributing to the continuous development of the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake teaching duties, including initial assessments of learners, identifying individual learning needs, and referring to learning support as appropriate.
  • Plan and deliver teaching and learning activities, including preparing course outlines, producing schemes of work and lesson plans, and ensuring there are appropriate and up-to-date course files.
  • Monitor learner attendance and punctuality, and take appropriate action as required.
  • Ensure the progress and achievement of learners is recognised and recorded, including marking of learners' work and providing retention and achievement information to the curriculum team leader/manager.
  • Undertake assessment and recording of learner outcomes, including the completion of exam entry forms.
  • Comply with safeguarding requirements, including all Health and Safety and GDPR regulations.
  • Observe and actively promote equal opportunities policies in the classroom, syllabus, and learning materials.
  • Ensure the security of both the classroom and any equipment borrowed or used within the classroom.
  • Attend and contribute to course team meetings.
  • Undertake appropriate training identified through the management process.
  • Participate in the Service's self-assessment and development planning process.
  • Comply with any reasonable request in relation to the teaching programme made by the Service.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • ESOL teaching experience is essential.
  • ESOL tutor qualification (CELTA/Trinity TESOL/teaching qualification with ESOL specialism) is required.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification) is required.
  • Knowledge and training in subject specialism (e.g. CELTA/Trinity TESOL/teaching qualification with ELT/ESOL specialism) is required.
  • Minimum L2 English and maths qualifications are required.
Additional Information

This role is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The role will be based at the Thomas Calton Centre, but there will occasionally be a need to travel to offsite venues for outreach delivery and to the LBS offices at Tooley St for training and meetings.
