Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Specialist to join our Technology Services team at NHS England. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering Simple, Safe and Smart Solutions across the NHS.

Main Responsibilities

The Senior Technical Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Delivering technical support and solutions for infrastructure within NHS England
  • Managing relationships between Infrastructure Teams and internal/external stakeholders
  • Supplier management to meet key performance indicators and agreed Service Levels for hosted systems
  • Supporting the Services hosted in the Infrastructure on-premises and cloud environments
  • Actively contributing to our technical and operational strategy using your specialist knowledge
  • Pro-actively providing input and support to high severity incidents for the multiple critical national systems and environments supporting NHS Live Services

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Significant knowledge of Release, Change, Configuration, and Incident management processes
  • Significant understanding of business continuity procedures and solutions
  • Demonstrable understanding and knowledge of both Microsoft Windows and Linux / UNIX environments
  • Demonstrable understanding and knowledge of both On-premises and cloud environments and platforms
  • Knowledge of NHS systems
  • Knowledge and experience of Cloud based applications and engineering
