About the Role

The Senior Technical Specialist will be responsible for delivering technical support and solutions for infrastructure within NHS England. This will involve managing relationships between Infrastructure Teams and internal/external stakeholders, supplier management to meet key performance indicators and agreed Service Levels for hosted systems, and supporting the Services hosted in the Infrastructure on-premises and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver technical support and solutions for infrastructure within NHS England
  • Manage relationships between Infrastructure Teams and internal/external stakeholders
  • Supplier management to meet key performance indicators and agreed Service Levels for hosted systems
  • Support the Services hosted in the Infrastructure on-premises and cloud environments
  • Actively contribute to our technical and operational strategy using your specialist knowledge
  • Pro-actively provide input and support to high severity incidents for the multiple critical national systems and environments supporting NHS Live Services

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have significant knowledge of Release, Change, Configuration, and Incident management processes, as well as a demonstrable understanding and knowledge of both Microsoft Windows and Linux/UNIX environments. You will also need to have experience of working in a large ICT department with a good understanding of ITIL processes and be actively involved in Change, Incident and problem management.

Qualifications

We are looking for an individual who is educated to master's degree level or equivalent work experience, with ITIL Foundation Qualification or equivalent work experience, and Cloud Foundation certificate.
