About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Night Care Officer to join our team at Swanwick Lodge, a secure children's home in Hampshire. The successful candidate will work closely with children aged 11-17 who have complex care needs, providing full care, education, and healthcare.

The Night Care Officer will be responsible for monitoring and providing care during nighttime hours, ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of the children. This includes observing, recording, and managing the risk of self-harm and absconding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build positive relationships with children and meet their basic needs in a way that demonstrates care and acknowledges their individuality.
  • Ensure the needs of a child are met during night-time hours, including observations, completing clear and accurate records, and managing risk.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to provide a safe and supportive environment for the children.
Requirements
  • Experience of residential care work and a Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
  • Understanding of key legislation relevant to children and young people.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with children, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
