Children's Ward Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Children's Ward Manager to join our Paediatric Assessment Unit team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the development and provision of a high-quality nursing service and environment for all babies, children, and young people that attend our unit.
Main Responsibilities- Provide specialist nursing knowledge, expertise, and advice, facilitating the provision of evidence-based patient-centred care pathways and packages.
- Ensure that resources are efficiently and effectively managed to deliver a high-quality service.
- Work closely with Paediatricians, multi-disciplinary teams, other clinical leaders, and managers to provide a high-quality, cost-effective, patient-focused service.
- Work in conjunction with ward managers within the paediatric service to support and manage service needs in their absence.
- Accountable for the development and performance management of all nursing staff in their workforce to enable safe patient care delivery and promote patient experience in the department.

Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will have a degree in Nursing or equivalent experience, RSCN/RN child with current NMC registration, teaching/assessing/mentoring or equivalent qualification, and evidence of post-registration training. They will also have excellent paediatric general clinical skills, excellent managerial, leadership and organisational skills, and relevant specialist skills and abilities for the department.
