Children's Ward Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Ward Manager for our Paediatric Assessment Unit. As a key member of our multi-professional team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the development and provision of a high-quality nursing service and environment for babies, children, and young people.
Main Responsibilities- Provide specialist nursing knowledge, expertise, and advice to facilitate evidence-based patient-centred care pathways and packages.
- Ensure efficient and effective management of resources to deliver a high-quality service.
- Work closely with Paediatricians, multi-disciplinary teams, and other clinical leaders to provide a high-quality, cost-effective, patient-focused service.
- Support and manage service needs in the absence of ward managers within the paediatric service.
- Accountable for the development and performance management of all nursing staff in their workforce to enable safe patient care delivery and promote patient experience in the department.

Our hospital provides a full range of cancer diagnosis and treatment services, as well as community services and a dedicated 0-19 service for children and young people.
Person SpecificationWe are looking for an individual with a degree in Nursing or equivalent experience, RSCN/RN child with current NMC registration, teaching/assessing/mentoring or equivalent qualification, and evidence of post-registration training. Leadership or management training, MSc in Advancing Nursing Practice, or Non-Medical Prescriber qualification are desirable.
