Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PCB Design Engineer to join our team at Major Recruitment. As a Senior PCB Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design department of a technically innovative engineering business.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Creation of accurate and cost-effective PCB designs that meet specific project requirements for both development and manufacture.
  • Identification of opportunities for improvement of PCB designs, creation of proposals for change where applicable, and serving as the reference point for PCB specification and design.
  • Ensuring that all PCB designs conform to design and industry standards and that all supporting data is logged and recorded correctly.
  • Liaising with internal teams to ensure effective PCB integration into the finished product and recommending any process changes where appropriate.
  • Evaluation of PCB product design and process capability using Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodology, performance of DFMA studies, design and conduct of PCB reliability tests, and application of relevant toolsets.

Requirements:

  • HNC / ONC Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Full conversance with IPC standards.
  • Experience of multi-layer PCB design and manufacturing.
  • Some exposure to high current boards is a prerequisite.
  • Proficiency in MS Windows, ECadstar, Blueprint, MRP/ERP, and data management software.
  • Application of Design/Process capability assessment and improvements & DFMA tools.

  • Excellent understanding of PCB manufacturing processes.
