About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced MET Technician to join our team at Steer Automotive Group in Sheffield. As an MET Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers' vehicles are repaired to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and replace mechanical, electrical, and trim components of various vehicle makes and models, including electric and hybrid vehicles.
  • Carry out all necessary mechanical and body work on allocated jobs, as well as ADAS and wheel alignment.
  • Dismantling vehicles ready for the panel shop.
  • Carrying out inspections, fault-finding, and diagnostic work.
  • Ordering replacement parts.
  • Re-assembling the vehicle with new parts as required to pre-accident condition.
  • Ensure all work meets the company's quality standards and complies with safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with the wider team regarding the status of repairs.

About You

We are looking for an experienced MET Technician with significant experience working on a range of vehicle types, including electric and hybrid. You will have high attention to detail and the ability to work skilfully and safely under pressure.

Requirements

  • Significant experience working as an MET, working on a range of vehicle types including electric and hybrid.
  • Competent in ADAS, wheel alignment, strip/refit, mechanical work and using diagnostic machines.
  • Ability to plan your workload efficiently and effectively so that vehicles are ready to agreed timescales.
  • Complete your work in line with manufacturers specifications.
  • Ability to work as part of the team, as well as on your own initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility in your approach, always working to high standards and with customer satisfaction in mind.
  • Follow Health & Safety guidelines at all times, including ensuring a clean and tidy work area and wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Experience and training in electric and hybrid vehicles as well as hold ATA/NVQ qualifications in automotive repair, and we will support in renewing these.
