About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Rayner Surgical Group as an Electro Optical Design Engineer, where you will play a key role in the research and development of innovative medical devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Utilize your expertise in optical design and engineering to develop and test implantable medical devices and pharmaceutical products.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with multidisciplinary project teams to drive the development of new ophthalmic products from concept to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Technical Contribution: Provide technical expertise to improve the effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of the company's products, processes, and systems.
  • Customer Interaction: Engage with customers, including medical professionals, to understand their needs and drive innovation.
Requirements
  • Education: Masters or PhD in a science or engineering field.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Zemax optical design software, MATLAB software, and working within a multidisciplinary project team.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to work autonomously, be organized, and take initiative.
  • Desirable Skills: Experience working in an intraocular lens company, designing diffractive optical systems, and interpreting patient optometry data.
