Electro Optical Design Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at Rayner Surgical Group as an Electro Optical Design Engineer. As a key member of our research and development team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing innovative ophthalmic products and processes.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop optical systems for intraocular lenses using Zemax software
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new ophthalmic products from concept to manufacturing
- Conduct critical assessments of our products, processes, and systems to improve effectiveness, quality, and efficiency
- Interact with customers and medical professionals to understand their needs and drive innovation
- Masters or PhD in science or engineering field
- 3+ years of experience with Zemax optical design software and MATLAB
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary project team
- Ability to work autonomously and take initiative
- Desirable: experience working in an intraocular lens company, ability to interpret patient optometry data, and knowledge of medical device regulations
