Commercial Operations Officer

The Commercial Operations Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our onboard services, including retail, food and beverage, and leisure operations. This role will work closely with the Director of Onboard Services to formulate strategies and deliver results.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and support the Director of Onboard Services in the day-to-day management of the performance of 3rd parties and OBS projects to achieve and exceed KPIs/SLAs.
- Hold weekly and monthly performance meetings to manage monthly activities aligned to strategies.
- Be part of the OBS team, synergizing with operations, training, and systems.
- Ensure clear day-to-day coordination between P&O and 3rd-party partners, being the internal P&O link between the Business unit (OBS).
- Manage and deliver appropriate entertainment propositions based on ship/sector and within budget, deliver the agreed mix of themed cruises, children's entertainment across the fleet working with the Marketing team to promote across the various forms of media.
- Manage product availability (F&B & Retail) and execution of the 3rd-party supplier's activities.
- Ensure that there is a link between P&O and 3rd Parties to overcome and managed the complexity of on-board constraints to allow the right offer to be delivered for the customer.
- Develop appropriate business cases to implement new products to market.
- Knowledge & Skills - Essential:
- Sector knowledge: Working knowledge and experience of the day-to-day operations in Retail, F&B, Leisure and the travel sector.
- Proven commercial acumen: A proven track record of supporting the delivery of results using financial modelling, analysis and budget management.
- Project Management: The ability to manage numerous projects on the go with good planning and organisational skills. Ability to juggle and prioritise tasks to meet business objectives in a fast-paced complex environment.
- 3rd Parties: Confident and articulate to communicate with our suppliers.
- Process orientation: Working knowledge and experience of the processes and systems required to support the setting and monitoring of qualitative and quantitative measures to inform KPI achievements.
- Decision making: Able to gather all key information and quickly identify real root and cause of problems to support robust decision making.
- Organisation: Organised with effective time management skills and able to assess business needs and set priority plans accordingly.
- Team player: Genuine interest in OBS team functions with a willingness to learn. Works well within a team and is happy to support the wider team while learning about delivering through partnerships.
- Communication and Interpersonal skills. Articulate with good interpersonal skills. Shows drive and enthusiasm with willingness to learn. Good presentation skills.
