Commercial Manager Job Description

Wood Digital Consulting is seeking a skilled Commercial Manager to support our UK projects within the System Integration business. This hybrid role can be based anywhere in the UK, with mobility and travel expected as required. The successful candidate must be able to pass a HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.

Key Responsibilities

The Commercial Manager will be responsible for ensuring effective commercial coordination of relevant projects in accordance with Company commercial policies and procedures. This includes:

  1. Delivering commercial reporting to the Business Unit.
  2. Ensuring all commercial procedures are followed and reviewed.
  3. Implementing and delivering key policies and procedures, including the Financial Management Framework and Tender Governance Procedures.
  4. Adhering to client contract T&Cs, with a focus on reporting and change management in line with the NEC4 client contract.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying, Law, or Business Studies, along with a professional qualification. They should have significant experience (8-12 years) in a similar role, with a good level (4+ years) of leadership/management experience. Experience of NEC contracts, particularly NEC4, is desirable.

Personal Attributes

The successful candidate will possess utmost integrity, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team and manage others. They should be able to prioritize key tasks, solve problems, and mentor/coach direct reports. Advanced user skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are also required.
