Job Title: Locum Consultant in Medical Oncology

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant in Medical Oncology to join our team at University Hospitals Plymouth. The successful candidate will provide high-quality multidisciplinary care for patients with various types of cancer, working closely with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert medical oncology services to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as surgeons, radiologists, and pathologists, to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and other modalities, in consultation with patients and their families.
  • Conduct research and participate in clinical trials to improve treatment outcomes and advance the field of medical oncology.
  • Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows in medical oncology.
Requirements:
  • Full registration with the UK General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Specialist training in medical oncology, with a strong background in clinical research and education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex clinical programs.
