Key Responsibilities:- Provide reactive support for site automation issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to production.
- Own and manage minor automation Capex projects, from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with site and group objectives.
- Collaborate with the Automation Development team to deliver site projects with automation elements, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
- Maintain and monitor the use of automation and electrical system software, ensuring version control and compliance with group standards.
- Liaise with the Automation Development team to provide a site perspective on the ongoing development of group automation and electrical standards.
- Ensure compliance with group electrical and automation standards for site-delivered projects and general improvement works.
- Evaluate performance data to inform automation OE activity, driving improvements in efficiency and operability within production.
- Own and manage the site panel risk assessment register, conducting periodic health checks and implementing remedial actions as necessary.
- Provide specialist automation support to site improvement initiatives, leveraging expertise to drive business benefits.
- Utilize specialist skills and systems access to validate and analyze site data, supporting quality improvement activities and other business objectives.
- Encourage engineering-based OE projects, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Support the site roadmaps for Quality, HS, EMS, Engineering, and Autonomous Maintenance, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Support improvement activities and events within engineering-owned areas, driving business benefits and cultural change.
- Stay aware of current performance impacts on the bottom line, making data-driven decisions to drive business growth.
- Deliver on-the-job training to new colleagues, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer and minimizing disruption to production.
- PLC experience and strong electrical skills.
- Ability to work independently on projects, with minimal supervision.
- Experience in a similar Automation Engineer role, with a strong understanding of automation principles and practices.
- FMCG industry experience is advantageous, but not essential.
- IT literacy and proficiency in relevant software tools.
