About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Belcan Technical Recruiting (UK) Ltd.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned mechanical engineer to design and own new cutting-edge products in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Mechanical Design: Oversee the mechanical design of products through all development phases, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Electronics Packaging Design: Design and analyze electronics packaging, including thermal, vibration, and stress dynamics, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • CAD and FEA Tools: Utilize CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and FEA tools (Ansys preferred) for detailed design and simulations, driving innovation and efficiency in product development.
  • Thermal Management: Manage thermal management design, precision machining, and EMI/EMC mitigation techniques to ensure products meet stringent industry standards.
  • Shock and Vibration Simulations: Conduct shock and vibration simulations and analyses to ensure products can withstand extreme conditions.
  • Engineering Design Reviews: Present engineering design reviews to customers and the executive team, effectively communicating technical information and driving business decisions.
  • Mentorship and Development: Mentor and develop junior engineers within the team, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and growth.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 9 years of industry experience in electronics packaging design and analysis.
  • Expertise: Expertise in aerospace and space industry design, development, and qualification.
  • Skills: Proficiency in working with electronics assemblies and PCBAs, experience with CNC manufacturing and EMI/EMC mitigation techniques, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
