Key Responsibilities- Assist endoscopists in performing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures, maintaining the highest standards of care within the endoscopy service.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate pre- and post-procedure care for patients undergoing endoscopy.
- Support the Unit in maintaining Joint Advisory Group on GI Endoscopy (JAG) accreditation.
- Participate as a member of the IPU core nursing team with knowledge in the care of patients on the unit.
- Demonstrate high standards of individual patient care with a commitment to the development of evidence-based practice.
- Competently care for patients, including assessment, planning, and evaluation of programs of care.
- Liaise and integrate with the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring patients receive comprehensive care and promote a team approach to working.
- Develop good working relationships and promote effective communication between all clinical grades of staff within the multi-disciplinary IPU team.
- The post holder will be proactive towards change and change management.

- Monitor the progress of learners and in particular their skills in carrying out practical procedures.

The Christie NHS FT is one of Europe's leading cancer centres, treating over 60,000 patients a year. We are based in Manchester and serve a population of millions across Greater Manchester and Cheshire, but as a national specialist, around 15% of patients are referred to us from other parts of the country.
The Integrated Procedures Unit (IPU) is a nurse-led, fast-paced, and dynamic service. The unit consists of a procedures unit, interventional radiology unit, ultrasound room, surgical dressings clinic, outpatients clinic, day of surgery admissions unit, an operating theatre, and second-stage recovery bays.
You will become part of this complex multidisciplinary team and benefit from a comprehensive induction period.
