Endoscopy Staff Nurse

The Christie NHS FT is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Endoscopy Staff Nurse to join our dynamic nursing team. As a key member of our endoscopy unit, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our endoscopy service.
Main Responsibilities- Assist endoscopists in performing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures, maintaining the highest standards of care within the endoscopy service.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate pre- and post-procedure care for patients undergoing endoscopy.
- Develop and implement care plans for patients undergoing a diverse range of day-case procedures.
- Act as a clinical role model for new staff, reflecting the philosophy, beliefs, and standards of the department.
- Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to promote a positive working partnership across all IPU services.
- Participate in clinical audit and contribute to the development of evidence-based practice.
- Support the unit in maintaining Joint Advisory Group on GI Endoscopy (JAG) accreditation.
The Christie NHS FT is one of Europe's leading cancer centres, treating over 60,000 patients a year. We are based in Manchester and serve a population of millions across Greater Manchester & Cheshire, but as a national specialist, around 15% of patients are referred to us from other parts of the country.
The Integrated Procedures Unit (IPU) is a nurse-led, fast-paced, and dynamic service. The unit consists of a procedures unit, interventional radiology unit, ultrasound room, surgical dressings clinic, outpatients clinic, day of surgery admissions unit, an operating theatre, and second-stage recovery bays.
You will become part of this complex multidisciplinary team and benefit from a comprehensive induction period.
Requirements- RGN Level 1 or 2
- Degree or Diploma in Nursing Studies
- Experience as an endoscopy-trained nurse
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to deliver a high standard of nursing care
- Computer literacy
- Understanding of the need for evidence-based practice
