Job Title: Senior VAT Manager

Project People is seeking a highly skilled Senior VAT Manager to join our team on a 6-month contract. As a Senior VAT Manager, you will be responsible for leading VAT compliance efforts, ensuring accurate and timely submission of VAT returns to HMRC, and providing expert advice on VAT-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead VAT compliance efforts, including review of VAT returns, balance sheet accounts, and journals.
  • Provide expert advice on VAT-related matters, including contract reviews and VAT project management.
  • Responsible for resolving VAT queries and managing HMRC enquiries.
  • Identify and implement improvements to VAT processes.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Tax to advise the business on VAT impact of new initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Qualified (CTA/ACA or equivalent)
  • At least 6 years VAT compliance experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good excel skills
  • Accounting knowledge
  • Proactive, self-motivated
  • Strong communication skills
  • Drive and enthusiasm

Nice to Have:

  • Employment tax knowledge and experience
  • Corporation tax knowledge
