VAT Manager Position

We're BDO, a leading accountancy and business advisory firm, and we're looking for a talented VAT Manager or Senior Manager to join our team. As a VAT Manager, you'll play a crucial role in providing VAT advisory and compliance services to a wide range of corporate clients in the FTSE100, FTSE250, AIM, and private equity backed and privately owned businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of existing clients and develop targets to ensure business growth
- Provide VAT compliance services and assist senior members of staff in client work and group management
- Communicate with senior managers, directors, and partners on a regular basis
- Identify and highlight opportunities to develop new work
Requirements:
- Significant understanding of and previous experience with VAT compliance
- Good knowledge of VAT technical areas
- Responsibility for VAT compliance for own portfolio
- Strong understanding and previous use of Microsoft Excel
- Experience using an accounting/compliance software platform
- Ability to manage a large and varied client portfolio
- Ability to actively seek opportunities for selling new services to existing clients
- Experience of dealing direct with Tax Authorities
- Experience of dealing with client senior management and key stakeholders
