Position Overview

At VolkerWessels UK, we specialize in a comprehensive array of civil engineering, infrastructure, and construction services. We are currently seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to join our team, focusing on significant infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Oversee civil engineering projects within the rail sector.
  • Possess a degree in Civil Engineering (MEng/BEng/Foundation Degree/BTEC).
  • Have experience in the role of CRE or TWC in environments related to Rail, Highways, Civil Engineering Groundworks, or Structures.
  • Provide mentorship to Project and Assistant Engineers.
  • Manage both direct and subcontracted workforces.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations on-site.
  • Support the commercial team in managing project costs and enhancing engineering efficiencies.
  • Facilitate the integration of civil engineering tasks from design through to construction, coordinating with other project disciplines.
  • Draft tender scopes and technical specifications for civil engineering tasks.
  • Hold a PTS certification (desirable).
  • Possess a valid CSCS card.
