About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and autonomous Advanced Podiatrist to join our team at Cambridgeshire & Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Podiatry Department, you will play a crucial role in developing our high-risk and diabetes provision services across the county.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement advanced assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plans for patients with complex foot conditions.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and effective management of high-risk patients.
  • Supervise and mentor junior podiatrists to facilitate smooth step-up and step-down processes.
  • Provide emergency access during working hours for inpatients and outpatients, identifying those who require medical or surgical intervention.
  • Make direct referrals to diagnostic services, utilizing results to inform treatment decisions.
  • Participate in departmental rota for ward rounds and community step-up/down clinical sessions.
  • Support the implementation and organization of foot health education programs for patients, relatives, and carers.
  • Provide foot health training for Primary Care, Secondary, and Social Services staff.
  • Be flexible and provide cover for other podiatrists at short notice or during periods of absence.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient consultations and related work carried out at each clinical session.
Requirements
  • HCPC registered podiatrist with a diploma/degree in podiatry.
  • Local anaesthetics certificate and evidence of continuing professional development in relevant areas.
  • An MSc in a relevant field or willingness to work towards one.
  • Independent Prescribing qualification or willingness to work towards one.
  • Ability to demonstrate working at 7 levels in line with the Podiatry Skill competency framework for a Band 7 Podiatrist.
