We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Maintenance Engineer Apprentice to join our team at IAC Group. As a Maintenance Engineer Apprentice, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our manufacturing equipment and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of Equipment: Perform routine maintenance tasks on all electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Proactive Maintenance: Assist in implementing and maintaining proactive maintenance systems to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Conduct route cause analysis to identify issues and provide first-time fixes to minimize downtime. Perform fault finding and repair on electrical and mechanical issues.
- Health, Safety, and Environment: Adhere to all company HSE policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Process Improvement: Recommend improvements to equipment and processes to enhance quality and productivity.
- Safety Checks: Perform regular safety checks on all machines to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery.
- Parts Replacement: Replace and repair parts on machines, including bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges, and switches.
- Electrical Maintenance: Replace electrical parts and equipment as required.
- Mechanical Device Observation: Observe and listen to mechanical devices in operation to identify potential issues.
- Machinery Testing: Start machinery to test their performance.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other tasks and projects assigned by management as required.
- Flexibility and Availability: Be available to work flexible hours, including shifts, and be prepared to accommodate emergency call-outs.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: NVQ level 3 in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Previous experience working in a high-volume, high-class automotive environment.
- Injection Molding Machines: Experience working with injection molding machines.
- Practical Engineering Skills: Practical mechanical/electrical engineering experience.
- Robotics and PLC Programming: Experience with robotics, specifically ABB 6 Axis robot and Fanuc, and PLC programming.
- Quality Systems: Knowledge of quality systems such as IATF16949/ISO 9000.
- Teamwork and Flexibility: Ability to work as part of a team, flexible on colleague cover, and willing to work outside normal hours.
- Emergency Call-outs: Prepared to accommodate emergency call-outs within reasonable parameters.
- Quality Standards: Understanding of IATF16949/ISO 9001 quality standards.
