The Opportunity

This is a newly created role that will provide critical support to our operations team. As a Health and Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for defining and implementing procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. You will also conduct regular site inspections, identify potential risks, and develop training programs to promote a safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with health and safety standards across all cement operations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential risks and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver health and safety training programs to promote awareness and enhance safety culture.
  • Prepare and maintain health and safety documentation, reports, and records for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster a proactive approach to health, safety, and environmental (HSEQ) matters.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar health and safety role within the construction industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess risk and implement solutions.
  • Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH or equivalent are highly desirable.
