**Job Summary**

As a Quality Assurance Specialist at Ardagh Group, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality in our Deeside End manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be part of a dynamic team that delivers excellent service and support to our customers.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Support the development and implementation of quality management systems, including ISO 9001 and Food Safety ISO 22000.
  • Build strong relationships with all plant departments to assess, prioritize, and reduce quality risks.
  • Investigate internal and external quality incidents, providing comprehensive reports and recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the shift core team to identify and mitigate quality risks, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Meet internal, customer, and third-party audit requirements, demonstrating expertise in quality management.
  • Develop and propose ideas to reduce costs, defect rates, complaints, and assess strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats for the department.

**Requirements & Experience**

  • Demonstrate safe working practices and knowledge of statistical process control, process capability, and trend analysis.
  • Experience with CI tools (5 why, 8D, Ishikawa, PDCA, DMAIC) to prevent or reduce quality risks.
  • Desirable: Six Sigma Green belt, experience with ISO standards, leading audits, and good housekeeping practices (6S).
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and self-motivation, ability to use initiative, and attention to detail.
  • Experience in a fast-speed, high-volume manufacturing environment and good communication skills.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and organize work to achieve daily objectives.

**Education**

  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English at grade C or above.
  • Analytical skills, experience with statistical process control, process capability, and trend analysis.
  • Quality and food safety qualifications and lead auditor qualification are desirable.
  • Advanced computer skills for Microsoft Office and fluent in written and spoken English.

**Working Pattern**

4 x 12-hour shifts, 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off, fixed rota with fixed 18-day holiday breaks per annum.
