This pivotal role within the M&G team is designed to bolster the growth and firm-wide integration of the Ashurst Advance & Consulting Division ("AAC"). The individual will be tasked with fostering collaboration, driving growth, and enhancing client engagement in strategically significant areas for Ashurst in the UK/EMEA market. Close cooperation with key cross-practice partners will be essential to develop, define, and execute the strategy for the AAC team.

The position necessitates close collaboration across the Clients, Markets, and Growth function to deliver a comprehensive approach to our clients.

Core Responsibilities

The role encompasses five primary areas of focus:

Strategic Planning & Execution

Collaborate with other M&G Managers and key cross-practice partners on corporate development for strategically significant areas, specifically crafting the regional strategy to optimize revenue growth in alignment with the firm's strategic objectives. Proactively oversee the strategy for strategically significant areas, including evaluating the achievement of key performance indicators and agreed commitments. Assist AAC teams in collaborating and driving strategic market-facing initiatives to fulfill the strategic plan goals, assessing progress on implementation.

Opportunity Identification & Management

Utilize market and client insights to stay informed about current and emerging trends and issues affecting the market. Identify areas of client need and opportunities for lead generation, aiming to deepen client relationships and enhance market penetration. Support the opportunity pursuit process, including identifying opportunities, managing tracking processes, preparing client-focused sales strategies and materials, and coordinating partners around pipelines and strategic pursuits. Develop and execute integrated revenue-generating and profile-raising campaigns and thought leadership, collaborating with other specialists. Act as a connector across practices and industries, collaborating with Practice Heads to identify and map key opportunities related to impactful areas of law. Leverage firm-wide thought leadership to enhance engagement for AAC.

Client Development & Management

Work seamlessly with Client Relationship Teams to integrate AAC into client account plans, fostering deeper relationships and driving profitable growth. Collaborate with the team to identify key clients and targets aligned with AAC focus areas. Engage in a client-facing capacity and cultivate relationships with key contacts at designated clients. Conduct regular reviews, analyses, and reporting of client financials to support designated client growth. Proactively organize and participate in client listening sessions, analyze feedback, and take responsibility for follow-up actions. Analyze insights gathered within the region to identify trends and opportunities across the regional portfolio.

Region Management

Build, support, and ensure the effectiveness of strategically significant areas by facilitating engagement across practices and developing relationships with cross-practice partners. Cultivate and leverage relationships with key market players and associations to enhance market penetration. Support the CMG Initiative budget process, monitoring expenditures and capturing ROI. Promote internal communications by sharing regional and client AAC successes. Share market knowledge across the broader CMG team and contribute to functional and firm-wide training programs. Ensure compliance with data capture requirements. Contribute to broader CMG team projects, including supporting new systems and processes as needed.

Risk and Control

Ensure that all activities and duties are performed in full compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
