About This Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our dynamic inpatient ward for adult males experiencing mental health crises. As a Deputy Ward Manager, you will play a vital role in leading and supporting our team while providing exceptional care to those in need.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients with acute mental illness, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
- Mentor and supervise junior nurses, fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, occupational therapists, psychologists, and social workers, to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
- Promote a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
Essential Requirements
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) qualification with completion of the Preceptorship program.
- Post-registration experience working in a mental health setting.
- Proven leadership skills and experience in mentoring and supervising others.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act (MHA).
Desirable Requirements
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Training in leadership and management.
