Job Overview

Hays Travel is seeking skilled Assistant Managers to enhance our thriving branches. In this role, you will support the branch manager in mentoring and nurturing a team of consultants, setting a standard of excellence that aligns with our company values. Your supervisory expertise will be essential in assisting with the daily operations of the branch, inspiring the team to provide outstanding customer service to maximize sales and overall profitability.

You will be dedicated to ensuring that every customer who enters our branch finds their perfect holiday. With continuous training, you will gain specialized knowledge to confidently recommend a wide array of holiday packages and personalized travel experiences, as well as ancillary and insurance products, to meet both individual and team sales objectives.

Our customers are central to our mission, so a strong background in customer service is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales while assisting the branch manager in maintaining the branch's overall profitability.
  • Support the effective daily functioning of the retail branch and foreign exchange services.
  • Aid in the supervision, coaching, and development of branch personnel.
  • Identify and fulfill customer needs by delivering exceptional service consistently.
  • Engage in promotional activities to enhance the branch's visibility.
  • Utilize social media to promote offers and generate customer engagement.
  • Lead by example in achieving personal sales goals and objectives.
  • Assist the branch manager in maximizing staff productivity while maintaining motivation.
  • Ensure that excellent customer service is provided at all times.
  • Attend management meetings, conferences, and promotional events as necessary.
  • Perform administrative tasks effectively.
  • Undertake any additional duties as required.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
  • Treat all employees, customers, and suppliers with respect and dignity.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Travel Consultant.
  • Proven track record in sales.
  • Passion for travel and tourism.
  • Extensive knowledge of travel products and familiarity with tour operator systems.
  • Strong sales and presentation abilities.
  • Customer-focused approach.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership experience in a supervisory role.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Outstanding communication abilities.
  • A recognized travel qualification is desirable.
