Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Haematology Nurse Specialist to join our team at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with haematological malignancies.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide expert nursing care and support to patients and their families, including holistic needs assessment and individualized care planning.
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient pathways and nursing services.
  • Contribute to the development of the service locally and nationally, including audit and research initiatives.
  • Act as a specialist resource for patients and the clinical team, providing comprehensive advice, information, teaching, and training.
  • Update own clinical and specialist knowledge, contributing to the development of quality standards within the specialty.

  • Essential:
    • First-level nursing registration
    • Post-registration qualification appropriate to specialty
    • First-level degree in a related subject
    • Evidence of continued professional development
    • Recognized teaching qualification or working towards
    • Chemotherapy qualification
  • Desirable:
    • Working towards a Master's-level qualification
    • Advanced communication skills
    • Level 2 psychology skills training
    • Non-medical nurse prescribing course
