Manufacturing Engineer - Production Support

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our Production Support Team in Derby. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work within a manufacturing cell to ensure the application of manufacturing process controls and authorisation of delegated tasks
  • Apply fundamental knowledge of DFMEA/PFMEA to influence product definition and final form manufacture
  • Ensure manufacturing processes are followed to meet product specifications, rigorously raising, investigating, and resolving quality and product safety issues
  • Collaborate with interfacing teams and local experts to ensure technical aspects of manufacturing processes and digital systems are understood and accounted for
  • Capture and utilise lessons learnt, identifying, documenting, and sharing best practice

Requirements

  • Experience in fabrications, valves, complex assemblies, and machining of critical classified components
  • Degree or equivalent in an engineering or related technical discipline, with previous experience in manufacturing engineering and/or process engineering
  • Strong analytical skills and proven record of technical problem-solving, with knowledge of six sigma/lean techniques
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with ability to present at all levels
