We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Care Leaver Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Leaving Care Team, you will play a vital role in supporting care leavers in Somerset to achieve their goals and live independently.
Key Responsibilities- Support care leavers aged 16-25 to access their entitlements and provide information, advice, and guidance.
- Work collaboratively with our specialist team to support asylum-seeking young people and refugees.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local services and organizations to ensure care leavers have access to the support they need.
- Contribute to the development of our care leaver support services and programs.
- Experience of direct working with young people, preferably including care leavers.
- Knowledge of child and adolescent development and the needs of care-experienced young people.
- Excellent recording skills and good organizational and time management skills.
- An innovative and creative approach to engaging young people, some of whom may be resistant to intervention.
- A supportive and rewarding work environment with opportunities for professional development.
