Job Title: Youth and Families Worker

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth and Families Worker to join our team at Turning Point. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for working with young people who are using drugs or alcohol or who are affected by someone else's use. You will work in the community with partner agencies as well as within the Youth Justice team to support young people and young adults to make life-long changes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with young people who are involved with Youth Justice services
  • Work with young people in schools, housing providers, or other youth provision to bring the service to the client to support engagement and change
  • Offer group sessions in various settings to support education and understanding of drugs and alcohol so people can make informed choices
  • Engage support and work with young people affected by someone else's drug or alcohol use
  • Take part in multi-agency groups to support young people, with children and young people's services or other partnership agencies
  • Create support plans that have a legacy element to support the client even when they stop working with Turning Point

Requirements:

We are looking for someone with experience of the substance misuse sector or transferable skills and a passion for working with young people. You will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to work in a flexible and varied role. Ideally, you will have access to your own transport and be able to travel around Suffolk, including some rural settings.
