Finance Director - Huddersfield New College

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Director to join our team at Huddersfield New College. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic financial guidance and leadership to support the College's goals and objectives.

About the Role: The Finance Director will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the College's financial strategy, ensuring that we maintain our financial 'outstanding' status. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to identify and mitigate financial risks, and develop and implement plans to achieve financial sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the College's financial strategy, ensuring alignment with the College's overall goals and objectives.
  • Lead the development and implementation of financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring that they are informed and equipped to make strategic decisions.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, and develop and implement plans to achieve financial sustainability.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the College's governing body, external auditors, and regulatory bodies.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in finance, with experience of working in a senior leadership role. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Additionally, you will need to have a strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance, with the ability to ensure that the College is operating within the law.
