The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of 6 staff, including 2 Senior Finance Officers, and will work closely with the Service Director and Head of Service to develop and maintain financial planning processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a team of 6 staff, including 2 Senior Finance Officers, and provide guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality financial services.
* Collaborate with the Service Director and Head of Service to develop and maintain financial planning processes, including budget setting and financial queries.
* Provide a comprehensive and timely financial management service, ensuring compliance with statutory, financial, and Council procedures.
* Support the preparation of budgets, medium-term financial, and service plans, and introduce appropriate mechanisms to monitor their activity.
Requirements:
* Member of a recognised CCAB professional accountancy body.
* Experience in the application of resource and business planning within a local authority or similarly complex organisation.
* Awareness of current issues affecting local government and the financial implications for local authorities.
* Experience of complex financial systems in a large organisation.
