About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Tanker Technician to join our team at Rocket Staffing. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing waste vacuum tankers and other tanker types in our Leicester workshops or off-site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, service, and repair tankers to a high maintenance standard, including pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, and welding work.
  • Learn and become a subject matter expert on our Cappellotto waste tankers.
  • Workshop-based role, sometimes working in teams, and occasionally service van repairs at remote locations across the UK.
  • Perform operational training and product familiarisation to customers and other stakeholders on tanker equipment.
  • Ensure all compliance details are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure all company vehicles are driven and operated at all times in accordance with road traffic law and company policy.
  • Provide high customer service levels while working to specified deadlines.
  • Must always adhere to the company's health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct oneself in a consistent manner that always demonstrates TIP values and behaviours.
  • The role will involve possible shift working, including weekends.
  • To undertake all required training as deemed necessary by the company.
Requirements
  • Time served experience working with tankers (preferably waste tankers) or HGV types (including trucks and trailers) would be a strong advantage.
  • Experience in similar fields to road tankers would be considered, such as hydraulics, pneumatics, plant machinery, or other similar vehicle types.
  • City & Guilds 1, 2, & 3 Certificates or equivalent qualifications in a similar area would be an advantage.
  • Previous mobile working experience would be an advantage.
  • High level of enthusiasm and good communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and ability to complete relevant written documentation.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to be able to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Initiative to work autonomously if required.
