Efficiency and Sustainability Programme Lead

NHS Golden Jubilee University National Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead its Efficiency and Sustainability Programme.

This senior role will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive programme approach to identify and deliver sustainable efficiencies across the organization. You will establish a new costing methodology to complement existing work streams focused on recurrent efficiency schemes, and lead negotiations for Service Level Agreements (SLAs) related to the diverse range of services provided to other NHS Territorial Boards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic programme approach to identify and deliver sustainable efficiencies across the organization.
  • Establish a new costing methodology to complement existing work streams focused on recurrent efficiency schemes.
  • Lead negotiations for Service Level Agreements (SLAs) related to the diverse range of services provided to other NHS Territorial Boards.
  • Monitor and report on performance against targets, utilizing a revised understanding of the cost of activity across all Territorial Boards.
  • Oversee the organization's Innovation portfolio, including Research and Development, the renowned Centre for Sustainable Delivery, and the NHS Scotland Academy.
  • Engage with clinical services and lead clinicians to ensure they understand the principles of Best Value.

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance, this role provides financial leadership and timely financial planning through the reporting of information and expert financial advice to senior management teams across the organization.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in financial management, programme development, and stakeholder engagement. They will be a strong communicator with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
