Position: Senior Construction Manager - Refurbishment Projects

Location: Winchester

Salary: £60,000 to £75,000 + Car allowance + Pension + additional company benefits

Randstad is seeking a seasoned Senior Construction Manager to oversee the internal aspects of a prestigious refurbishment project valued at £20 million. This role involves managing a listed building renovation in the Winchester area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Assume full accountability for the management and orchestration of all internal activities, ensuring timely completion, adherence to budget, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Team Leadership: Direct and mentor a team of site personnel, subcontractors, and trades, promoting a cooperative work atmosphere and ensuring alignment with project objectives and schedules.
  • Quality Assurance: Supervise the craftsmanship and quality of work, guaranteeing that all finishes and details fulfill the rigorous standards required for a listed building refurbishment.
  • Health & Safety Management: Ensure that all site operations conform to Health & Safety regulations, particularly considering the unique challenges associated with listed buildings.
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain robust communication with clients, architects, and stakeholders, ensuring that all project expectations and requirements are met effectively.
  • Planning & Reporting: Develop and manage comprehensive work schedules, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and necessary adjustments to the project timeline.

Skills Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Senior Construction Manager, ideally with a focus on listed building or high-end refurbishment projects.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a proven track record of managing large teams and multiple subcontractors.
  • Thorough understanding of construction methodologies, particularly those relevant to heritage projects.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, architects, and stakeholders.
  • Relevant qualifications in construction management or a related discipline.
  • CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid certifications are mandatory.
