Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Technical Operations Supervisor to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you will oversee the daily maintenance and reactive operations, leading a small team of Multi-Skilled Engineers and Handymen.
Your responsibilities will encompass managing all engineering personnel on-site, while also supporting various functions, including Health and Safety and Performance Management.
You will ensure that all planned preventative maintenance and reactive mechanical and electrical tasks are executed in accordance with established service level agreements.
Continuous improvement will be a key focus, as you strive to enhance efficiency across all engineering activities and site areas.
Additionally, you will manage, control, and coordinate subcontractors engaged in maintenance visits or projects related to mechanical and electrical services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Foster a culture of safety within the team through the use of the AVA system and site training sessions, including Tool Box Talks as provided by the organization.
• Utilize the CAFM system daily to manage, schedule, prioritize, and assign tasks and orders.
• Ensure timely replenishment of parts and materials for all new and existing equipment, maintaining an accurate register of materials.
• Lead, motivate, and provide clear direction to the engineering team.• Manage the daily welfare of the engineering staff.
• Ensure contract targets (SLA's) are met and compliance is achieved at all times.
• Implement effective training and development programs for all engineering personnel.
• Maintain current skill sets and qualifications relevant to each role.
• Review and approve all Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) prior to any work being undertaken.
• Ensure effective supervision and communication with all staff and contractors to comply with relevant policies, procedures, RAMS, and guidelines.
• Produce accurate and timely reports as required by senior management.• Ensure adherence to statutory, corporate, and technical requirements.
• Act as a technical specialist for engineering-related queries and challenges.
• Proactively manage the team, upholding high standards in work quality, team presentation, communication, and overall engineering standards.
• Conduct scheduled monthly audits on engineering and subcontractor work completed.
• Provide relevant documentation and reports to the administrative team as evidence of activities undertaken.
• Collaborate with the administrative team to confirm and order any materials or parts needed for assigned tasks.
• Manage and review tasks assigned to engineering and subcontractors for additional works identified from planned preventative maintenance or reactive tasks.
• Contribute to the Business Continuity plan.• Participate in a shift system to conduct attendance, audits, training, and support on each shift rota.
• Engage in daily communication with internal teams, clients, tenants, and building users.
• Attend management meetings as directed by senior management.
• Act as deputy in the absence of the Engineering Manager.
Candidate Profile:
• Hold a recognized technical qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent) with a mechanical or electrical focus.
• Possess supervisory or management qualifications.
• Have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role and level of responsibility.
• Demonstrate experience in a technical engineering position within the building services maintenance sector.
• Exhibit professionalism and presentability, embodying the values and behaviors of the organization.
• Integrate effectively within a team, whether in a leadership or supporting role.
• Display commercial acumen and understanding of contracts and negotiations within the facilities management environment.
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of facilities management and maintenance practices.
• Have a good understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience in managing work orders through a CAFM system is essential.
