About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Physiologist to join our team at Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our respiratory physiology department, you will be responsible for performing a range of basic and specialized lung function tests, as well as maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring quality control procedures are in place.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a range of basic and specialized lung function tests without supervision
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure quality control procedures are in place
- Work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care
- Develop and implement new procedures and protocols to improve patient outcomes
- Contribute to the development and delivery of training programs for less experienced staff
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Clinical Physiology or equivalent
- Experience working within respiratory physiology, completing assessments of competence in respiratory physiology measurements
- Ability to interpret basic lung function and sleep tests
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team
- Highly developed skills for use of equipment
